Superb neo-Gothic castle built for Baron de Lassus with Gothic chapel, forge, saddlery and superb landscaped park.
A private property from the end of the 19th century that looks like a fairy tale castle! Built at the request of Baron de Lassus, Valmirande was inspired by Chambord. It is the centerpiece of a magnificent estate hidden in nature: neo-Gothic chapel with beautiful stained glass windows, janitor's lodge, blacksmith's shop, saddlery... The 40-hectare park, which has been awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label, contains fine examples of century-old trees. Very inspiring, it offers a romanesque set with its ponds, grotto, rustic kiosk, small bridges spanning streams... Not to be missed.

À voir absolument
Après avoir franchi les portes du château nous avons été reçu par une dame ou plutôt une porte de prison qui nous a annoncé un tarif exorbitant pour la visite uniquement du parc... 7€ par personne pour se balader dans un parc joli (et la chapelle du château) mais on est quand même loin des châteaux de la Loire. Rappel pour 16€ vous pouvez visiter le château de Chambord ET son parc...
Bref, un accueil déplorable sans explication, un parc joli et à part un petit oeil curieux à travers les vitres aucune visite de l'intérieur du château... dommage
