Superb neo-Gothic castle built for Baron de Lassus with Gothic chapel, forge, saddlery and superb landscaped park.

A private property from the end of the 19th century that looks like a fairy tale castle! Built at the request of Baron de Lassus, Valmirande was inspired by Chambord. It is the centerpiece of a magnificent estate hidden in nature: neo-Gothic chapel with beautiful stained glass windows, janitor's lodge, blacksmith's shop, saddlery... The 40-hectare park, which has been awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label, contains fine examples of century-old trees. Very inspiring, it offers a romanesque set with its ponds, grotto, rustic kiosk, small bridges spanning streams... Not to be missed.

Très beau domaine !
Une belle visite guidée, prévoir environ 02h30 pour la visite et de l'espèce.

Une expérience inédite dans ce parc qui met le château en valeur. La chapelle du château est magnifique. Cet endroit mérite le détour pour son architecture et la richesse des essences d'arbres du parc (Pas de CB, pensez à prendre de la monnaie).

A voir, parc magnifique. Nous avons eu peur de rester sur notre faim, mais finalement belle découverte. Notre guide a été très agréable, patiente et bonne narratrice.

Pagarás 10€ por persona para mantenerle los jardines y el castillo al propietario. Y tú solo podrás ver el castillo a través del cristal de la puerta de la entrada. Eso sí, te pegarán un peñazo de 3h enseñándote los bosques y las variedades de árboles que hay (bonitos, eso sí). Una tomadura de pelo, lo siento.

Los que no hablen Francés. Olvidaros de entender nada. No están preparados para el turismo Español o Inglés. Es habitual en la zona de los pirineos, no encontraréis personal preparado en turismo e idiomas. Yo hablo Francés y me pareció un tremendo aburrimiento, propio de los viajes de jubilados. Los niños no soportan y quieren irse. Algunas familias abandonaron la visita. Nosotros aguantamos hasta la fachada del castillo, 1h y 30 min. Quedaba otra 1 y media y nos fuimos. Por cierto solo se ve por fuera, poniendo las manos en los cristales. No entras. Habiendo ido al Loira una decepción.
