PROVIDENTIEL COQUILLAGES
Created in 2017 in Ramonville, the start-up Providentiel Coquillages recycles clam oyster shells into products for gardening, agriculture or poultry feed, but also water treatment and cosmetics. Driven by strong environmental convictions, the company's founders (Daniel Moukoko, Jean-Louis Clément and Gaëtan Leguay) found inspiration in Cameroon, in front of hens who love this type of iodized snack. The trio buys its empty shells from the Thau de Sète pond, where they are crushed and then cleaned of impurities before being put on the market. Thus treated, the shells can be used as natural fertilizer and mulching for the soil or as a snack for hens and other poultry in the backyard (oyster shells are particularly rich in calcium).
