THE ART MILL
Known as the city of marble, Saint-Béat has been home to this mill since the 16th century... It served until the 1960s and was acquired by the municipality in 2001. It has since been restored. It now houses a museographic space and a collection of nearly four hundred objects retracing the techniques and know-how related to the trades of yesteryear: wood, iron, leather, work in the fields, hunting.... This ecomuseum is a true testimony of life in the 19th century, and largely evokes Marshal Gallieni, a child of the country. The Moulin des Arts is the only one in Europe to have three white marble wells in Saint-Béat.
