A safe bet for over thirty years. Simple menu, fresh local produce, conviviality and a light slate.
For over thirty years, Le May has been located on a tiny, hidden square not far from the Capitole, between the busy Rue Saint-Rome and the peaceful Garonne River. Its recipe is simple: a small bistro with a colorful decor and friendly atmosphere, with a terrace where you can soak up the summer sun. It may not look like much, but it's sure to surprise you with the quality of its dishes, and all for very smart prices! The menu focuses on fresh, local produce, prepared in a no-frills style: Parisian salad, spicy beef brochette, bavette, duck breast with lentils, and of course chocolate mousse, dessert of the day and ice cream sundaes!

The marinated anchovies were great. Duck comfit was good. The steak with cheese sauce were also good. Mont blanc with chestnut was good but the sauce is too sweet. The service was good. In general the restaurant is good but offered great value.
