Le Contre-Pied offering tasty and well prepared dishes near the Carmes market

There are places that touch your heart as soon as you walk through the door. Le Contre-pied is one of them. And why is that? Because it emanates something sincere, real and authentic. The decor is neat but simple. No fuss, no attempt to be trendy. Here, the essence lies in the team at the helm of this bistro-style restaurant - located just a stone's throw from the lively Marché des Carmes - and in the food, of course, which is meticulous and tasty, and the glass that accompanies it. Horse mackerel bihia with seaweed sauce, suckling pig, zucchini and chermoula focaccia, plum financier... It's good, very good. Plus, having a chef behind the stove is a real pleasure!

Une belle adresse bistrot qui servent des assiettes bien travaillés, un arrangement parfait sur les plats aux goûts justes accompagné d'un vin nature juste en parfait harmonie.
Un service parfait dans un atmosphère franchement joviale.

A la lecture de la carte aux intitulés un peu pompeux et vu les tarifs nous nous attendions à une cuisine plutôt gastronomique. Et bien ça a été une déception générale avec des plats brouillons et sans aucun relief. Aucune saveur marquante mais plutôt un amoncèlement de produits qui ne dégagent rien. La bonite fadasse, le chou fleur beaucoup trop relevé ou encore la basse côte de boeuf qu'on peine à identifier n'ont pas convaincu. Un seul élément relève la soirée, le vin, excellent.

Une adresse juste exceptionnelle !! De l’entrée au dessert on se laisse surprendre et toujours dans le bon sens. Coup de cœur pour les saint Jacques et le risotto au potimarons !! Un service sans faute et dans la bonne humeur, je recommande les yeux fermés !!

We had the five course tasting menu. Food was delicious and creative. Although our reservation was only for two hours the service wasn’t stressful or pressing.
We had a nice dinner!
