The 5 Wine Bar, located in Toulouse, was named the best wine bar in the world from 2017 to 2019, and for good reason! With 4,000 bottles, more than 500 references and 500 wines by the glass, its rich wine list, champagnes and other grands crus offers a real tour of France and even the world. Whether you are a red, white or rosé wine lover, this wine bar welcomes you with a large table d'hôtes and a showcase overflowing with great wines. It also offers an inventive catering service with food and wine pairings proposed by the team of sommeliers in close collaboration with the chef. Everything is presented in the restaurant room or in the basement in the pink brick cellar of Toulouse. With its unique concept, the 5 Wine Bar makes the best wines of the world accessible by always offering new vintages and by offering the possibility to taste the pearls of the Toulouse terroir. In addition, wine tasting workshops are organized upon registration.

I don't know how the "local guides" in these reviews relate to this winebar, but this is most likely the worst winebar I have seen in my life. A very limited collection, expensive, the wines themselves medium to mediocre and no advise from the people working there. Just tap it yourself! And then this bar was elected "the best winebar in the world"? Don't make me laugh please. Further in the street you'll find L'Alimentation. Not fantastic either (I guess I am spoiled by Dutch winebars), but much better than this tourist trap.

PS : une étoile en moins pour la cusine. Non pas pour les tapas que nous avons dégustées mais pour le pain qui m’a fait pensé aux boules de pain de campagne industriel de la grande distribution, vendues en sachet plastique.
