THE STUDENT HÔTEL
A shared living space in The Social Hub, offering airy, colorful and comfortable rooms that reflect the vast lobby
More than a hotel, The social hub is a shared living space. Open to all - students, business, short or long stay - you're welcome. The concept was born ten years ago in the Netherlands. The Toulouse establishment is the fifteenth to open in Europe, and belongs to a real family, or to put it in today's terms - to a community that has understood that playing doesn't in any way prevent you from working well and performing well! So everything here is designed to make you feel good: chill-out areas, restaurant, gym, table soccer, cinema, evening events (tournaments or quizzes, but also administrative help or psychological support...). Rooms are airy, colorful and comfortable, just like the vast lobby.

Great facilities, very friendly staff. Stayed here for 10 nights and the whole experience was excellent. Rooms are modern, and the restaurant and bar area very good. Coffee and refreshments available during the day. Short walk to local shops, 15 minutes into Toulouse.

I lived there for about four months since I was studying in Toulouse for one semester. It was very overpriced and it seemed like everyone I was talking to paid a different price. Also, you are forced to pay for the whole month even if you're leaving earlier. What really bothered me was that I was unable to open the window since they keep it locked for security reasons even if you're asking them to unlock it. The shared kitchen is expected to be mainly cleaned by the students themselves and they don't provide any cleaning equipment, so you definitely should not expect anything that is similar to a hotel. Also the cleaning of the rooms once a month was very superficial and you did not really know when exactly they're coming. There were also many fire alarms due to the young students cooking. For I think the first one and a half month, there were no washing machines and only at the very end of my stay I found out by coincidence that the automatic soap dispenser was actually not filled. Meaning, I washed my clothes without soap the whole time since they didn't seem to bother informing the residents.
What bothered me the most was the lack of privacy. Different employees came and entered my room on a regular basis, sometimes when I was working in homeoffice and sometimes when I wasn't home, most of the time without previous announcement. If you had all the advantages of a hotel such as daily cleaning service, I think the lack of privacy would be acceptable. But since you definitely do not have the advantages of a hotel and the room is basically just a student dorm, I don't think people should just enter your room unannounced.
