A single-nave church with a remarkable portal tympanum and a superb organ case sculpted by the Puget brothers in Toulouse.
Situated in Les Carmes, this church with a single nave surrounded by chapels owes its name to the whiteness of its whitewashed walls. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it was then called Sancta Maria Dealbata. The tympanum of the portal, made of ceramics by the famous Gaston Virebent in 1874, is inspired by the Coronation of the Virgin by Fra Angelico. It completes a Renaissance portal of 1537. Distinctive sign of the building, its truncated bell tower. This one built by Nicolas Bachelier (Hôtel d'Assézat, Pont-Neuf) in 1551 collapsed on Sunday 11 April 1926 shortly after 3 o'clock in the morning, taking part of the building with him!
