A place of memory in Toulouse, with an atypical architecture impregnated with utopia, with interactive terminals and exhibitions

A place of memory and interpretation, Le Castelet retraces 150 years of a very special history: that of the former Saint-Michel prison. Although the prison itself cannot be visited, the castle-like entrance pavilion - or castelet - explains its often painful past. Life stories, daily prison life, the Resistance (Marcel Langer...), the Liberation in 1944: interactive terminals and exhibits tell the story of those who passed through these walls. This monumental complex, exceptional for its atypical utopian architecture, was designed by architect Jacques-Jean Esquié in the late 19th century. Guided tours regularly scheduled.

Le bâtiment, l'accueil, l'exposition temporaire ou permettante sont inoubliable. C'est une réellement immersion grâce aux témoignages. Le seul bémol fut une surveillante du musée (celle avec le foulard sur la tête) qui parle méga fort au téléphone (ce qui m'a dérangée et déconcentrée et deconcertée pour mon immersion ). Attention si vous lui faites remarquer, (que sa conversation ne nous interresse pas, vue qu'elle parle très très fort ,elle fait un esclandre et devient injurieuse devant mes enfants et mon amie cela m'a peinée. Ne pouvait elle pas se faire remplacer et s'isoler pour téléphoner,? Peut elle téléphoner durant son travail? Bref joyeuse visite, dans l'ancien monde carcéral.

Wir waren an einem Sonntag vor Ort, der Eintritt war kostenlos. Mehrere Räume sind aufbereitet und erzählen die Geschichte des Ortes bzw. des Gebäudes.
Gefreut hätte ich mich noch mehr, wenn man das ehemalige Gefängnisgebäude dahinter auch noch hätte besichtigen können.
