You have already crossed the Garonne from the New Bridge, which allows the passage between the districts of Esquirol and Saint-Cyprien, connecting the rue de la République to the rue de Metz. If construction began in the sixteenth century, the inauguration took place only in 1659, more than a century later. Today it is one of the most beautiful French bridges, admiring any time, from the wharves of Tounis and the Daurade. Although it has been somewhat restored over time, it is nevertheless very solid, having been built to withstand floods and the unleashed river, with its 7 irregular arches.

Le plus vieux pont de toulouse ! Magnifique, majestueux, reliant st cyprien et le centre ville devant le quai de la daurade où il fait bon d’admirer la garonne passer au travers de ce pont qui a été le seul a résister à ses caprices !

Très joli pont, qui nous emporte à une autre époque et original, grâce à son architecture particulière, pour lutter contre les crues de la Garonne.

Un tres bel ouvrage qui en franchissant l garonne relie deux quartiers branchés de la ville rose. Le soir, illuminé, il est sublime....
Son originalité : ces « degueloires »....je vous laisse deviner à quoi cela sert !

Pour relier les 2 rives de la Garonne
Le plus vieux Pont de Toulouse n'a pas pris une ride. il est majestueux avec ses dégueuloirs (grandes ouvertures pour éviter que le pont ne s'emporte en cas de crue). Il est magnifiquement illuminé la nuit et côtoie des monuments somptueux, comme les Beaux Arts, le quai de Tounis d'un côté, l'hôtel Dieu, la Prairie des filtres et la galerie du château d'eau de l'autre.
