Museum retracing the history of Toulouse through various collections of objects, paintings and reconstructions.

The Musée du Vieux-Toulouse opens its doors thanks to the Toulousains de Toulouse, a society dedicated to the defense of the region's heritage. Housed in a Renaissance townhouse, its collections of objects and paintings retrace the past of the pink city. Visitors move from one room to the next, from Antiquity to the 21st century. Amphoras, ceramics, posters, portraits of the Capitouls, 18th-century earthenware, regional pottery, traditional costumes... An excellent introduction to the city's popular traditions.

A visit to this museum is a moment in a delightfully kitsch. Volunteers of the association which is occupied some are as old as adorable (with their old-fashioned charm). If you fall on a guided tour of the historic company (free), follow: you will learn a lot of funny anecdotes on the violet, nougaro, the Toulouse, the opera... The collections are not stunning but it is fun to find places that we know on paintings and measure the evolution of it. The outdoor courtyard, it is very fresh in summer (good idea!) and the museum is just opposite a small tea and kitsch museum. To see!
