Gallery dedicated to artist photography, hosting exhibitions dedicated to established and emerging artists

The Galerie du Château d'Eau is a magnificent space dedicated to artists' photography. Internationally renowned, it takes its name from the building that once supplied the city with drinking water, pumped from the Garonne. Disused in 1870, it was the initiative of Toulouse photographer Jean Dieuzaide that reopened the building a hundred years later. Since then, the space has hosted a number of fascinating exhibitions. The library's 15,000 books can be consulted in the documentation center under the arches of the Pont Neuf.

J'y reviens régulièrement pour voir les nouvelles expositions de photos ! Il y a une guinguette à l'extérieur avec des produits fait maison et une boutique également dans la 2ème galerie !

Je m'attendais à des artistes et images de qualité, des sujets intéressants pour un lieu prétendu "spécialisé" en photo. Étant photographe, professeure et chercheuse en ce domaine, je suis restée 5 minutes tellement ennuyeux, superficiel et prétentieux, un style bobo surfait et déjà vu? rien d'intéressant. Je m'intéresse à tous les sujets et formes d'expression si cela est fait avec talent et intelligence, je n'en ai pas trouvé au dernier vernissage . Je mets une étoile pour le lieu architectural lui-même original et bien situé. Dommage, du gâchis culturel
