TOULOUSE-BLAGNAC GREENWAY
A dike protecting the city from flooding, ideal for enjoying a pleasant view of the Garonne and the urban landscape
Starting in the centre of Toulouse, at the Quai Saint-Pierre, this greenway takes you to Blagnac along the "Garonne wall", the dyke that protects the city from flooding. From the start of this six-kilometre route, next to the Espace Bazacle, you can enjoy a pleasant view of the Garonne and the urban landscape. As you progress along the Sept Deniers district, the environment becomes increasingly green. Then you cross over to the left bank, in Blagnac, where you find yourself in a much wilder but well-developed environment, to reach the Parc des Ramiers. The more motivated can then continue to the Quinze Sols leisure centre or along the greenway of the Airbus A380 route. This route is pleasant on foot or by bike, but beware of the crowds, as many Toulousans use it to get to the office in their little queen. On the other hand, it is difficult to use on rollerblades and difficult to access for people in wheelchairs, because of the very steep ramps.
