GREENWAY OF THE CANAL DE GARONNE
A greenway that is simply very pleasant, built on its own site, shaded and by the water, with rural landscapes
Less known than the Canal du Midi, the Canal de Garonne or lateral canal, is the portion of the Canal des Deux Mers which goes from Toulouse to the Atlantic Ocean and Bordeaux. It was intended to facilitate merchant transport, which was too random on the Garonne. The old towpath has been transformed into 193 km of greenway. From the mouth of the river, the urban environment of the first section quickly gives way to rural landscapes. This greenway can be used by bicycle and rollerblades.
