FILTER MEADOW
One of Toulouse's most pleasant green spaces, close to the Garonne and overlooking the quays.
The Prairie des Filtres is a vast green area named after the filter galleries used to purify muddy water pumped from the Garonne. In its heyday, the prairie played host to a number of popular events: the landing of the first airplanes to fly over Toulouse, the exploits of the rugby team, stands at the Foire Agricole... A public garden since 1976, the Prairie des Filtres is now one of Toulouse's most pleasant green spaces, combining its plant life with its proximity to the river and views over the quays.
