GRAND PARC CANAL
A park with the aim of reclaiming nature in the city, with canals and surroundings that are both ecological and fresh.
With 30 km of canals, Toulouse Metropole is leading a major project to develop the Midi, Brienne and Garonne canals, under the name Grand Parc Canal. This project is being carried out in partnership with Voies Navigables de France and involves Toulouse, Fenouillet, Lespinasse and Saint-Jory. The objective is to reclaim nature in the city, around the canals and their surroundings as structural elements of a large metropolitan park, which is both an ecological corridor and a cool island. It is also a question of protecting the landscapes and uses of the canals.
