Every year on May 25, Verfeil town council organizes events around the Comtesse de Ségur. May 25 is not a date chosen at random: it's the day of Sainte-Sophie, in homage to the most turbulent of the great novelist's heroines! The two Little Model Girls, Camille and Madeleine, actually existed and lived in the Château de Verfeil. They are buried in the small cemetery. Throughout the day, tours and festivities enliven the pretty village.
