ST. GERMAIN CHAPEL
This charming chapel is said to have been built by Charlemagne to thank God for healing Roland's army
This charming chapel is said to have been built by Charlemagne to thank God for curing Roland's army of plague sufferers, after drinking water from the spring beside which it stands. The site is still celebrated every May. The rural setting is well worth the detour, and the spring and its basin are no strangers to the charm of the place. If you look carefully, you'll find an outdoor stone church where mass used to be said, and under its trees, there's a very special atmosphere... A must-see.
