THE HOUSE OF CARYATIDS
With its 4 statues of women, this private house of neo-classic style dated 1830 represents a certain curiosity in Lauzun.
This house of style, of neo-classical execution, is dated 1830. It is a curiosity in Lauzun. Its facade, with its 4 caryatids, has been classified as a historical monument since 1972. But what is a caryatid? Caryatids are statues of women dressed in tunics, which act as pillars and which, here, without arms, support the cornice with their heads. The house is private, so you can only admire this beautiful building from the outside, as it is not open to visitors. The statues are wearing ribbons for "Pink October".
