Just before summer, it is time for sheep to reach the pastures. In June, farmers prepare their herds for the traditional montée, and this crucial moment of pastoralism turns into a great feast every year. To accompany the valiant sheep, you must rise early because the departure takes place before dawn. If you're looking at the beginning, the mood and beauty of the landscapes will be the perfect place to smile because, no doubt, it's a unique rendezvous that awaits you. More than 1 200 sheep and their watchdogs animate transhumance, punctuated by ringing bells and rappel, each playing its partition seriously. Seeing the sun break the clouds during your walk is a wonderful spectacle that you will not forget. The less courageous will go directly to the Col Pass where a gargantuan meal with the shepherds is organised, animated by hill songs and music of the bandas, you will understand the enthusiasm for these rare and magical moments that perpetuate the old-fashioned breeding as you love them.
