Joël Hocquelet is the current mayor of Marmande. A community councillor with the Val de Garonne Agglomération, departmental councillor and vice-president in charge of agriculture, he is a member of the Socialist Party. He is committed to a participatory democracy approach, which includes consulting residents on the town's major projects, an ecological and food pact, and a review of mobility and the restructuring of the town's boulevards. The town hall is located on Place Clemenceau, and was completely redeveloped in 2024.
