Albert Marzelles (1859-1938), a notary, bequeathed his private mansion to the commune, in the heart of the city near the town hall. Mr. Marzelles wanted to prove his attachment to his native town, despite his career in Paris. This house was restored, converted into a museum and opened to the public in 1984. It offers a rich annual program of exhibitions of renowned painters, sculptors, photographers, as well as a collection of 19th century paintings by the Marmande artist Abel Boyé (1864-1933).
