The regional association at Midi Pyrenees of the Logis de France (a national association bringing together throughout France the hotels-restaurants with a tradition of quality restoration) organizes the "Chefs Logis" contest every year. This competition is intended to celebrate the culinary heritage of the region Midi-Pyrénées, since it is focused every year on a lighthouse product of the land (in 2013 it will be the black pig of Bigorre), but also to highlight the generation that will be in the furnaces in the coming years, since it takes place in collaboration with a CFA (Centre for Training of the D). Apprentices) and that each amateur candidate is assisted by an apprentice and coachee by the head of the centre.
The final of the competition was held at the Blagnac CFA (31) in 2011 and will take place in November 2013 in a Albi CFA.
Registration: it will be by mail, mail or telephone at the contact details above.
Selection Courses: it will be done at the departmental level, each candidate proposing an original recipe from an imposed basket comprising the year's flagship product. 8 candidates (one for each of the departments in the Midi-Pyrénées region) will be qualified for the final.
Final: Candidates will have to prepare a recipe from the same taxed basket as at the preselections. The test takes place in a professional kitchen, that of the CFA where the final takes place, and lasts 3 h. The amateur candidate receives a verbal coach from his supervisor for 10 min.
The jury: it will be made up of renowned leaders, regional personalities of the culinary world and the host CFA President.
Price: all candidates receive a prize. The winner wins a stay in charming accommodation for two people, accompanied by a cookery course.
