ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH
A church with several steps, to allow access to the top of its bell tower, and offering a view of the Landes forest
In 1077, a papal bull announced the construction of the church, most certainly on the former site of a Gallo-Roman villa. During the three centuries of its construction, Gothic art succeeded the Romanesque. These two styles cohabit today in a harmonious way. Listed as a Historic Monument since 1840, ninety steps will take you to the top of its bell tower from where you will enjoy a magnificent view of the immense Landes forest.
