Also called La Roque d'Autoire, the Château des Anglais is a semi-troglodyte medieval ruin. The baron of Castelnau-Gramat started the construction of this castle clinging to the cliff at the end of the 12th century. A century later, it was ceded by the king of France to the king of England and used by mercenaries and truckers during the 100 years war, then by the protestants. It was abandoned in the 18th century. It was registered as a historical monument in 1925. From now on, it is a delight for hikers and history buffs.
