Former mines from the end of the 19th century, the phosphatières offer a magnificent view of the mining life of that era.

Former mines from the end of the 19th century, the Cloup d'Aural phosphate mines offer a magnificent view of mining life at that time. Fossils more than 30 million years old have been discovered during their exploitation. When descending into these open-cast mines, visitors will be surprised to discover a whole range of vegetation peculiar to tropical regions, between light and the underground world. The 9.2 km-long Geological Time Trail.

A unique site in the world!
The memory of a few years of exploitation of an annual resource during the 19th century.
Informative site, very well thought out. Fascinating guided tour. What to occupy afternoon family.
Only one regret, lack of maintenance of the botanical part.
