DORADO DISTRICT
The Daurade district is a magnificent example of superbly restored medieval architecture.
Rue Clément-Marot, named after the Cadurcian poet born in 1496, who was both prince of poets and poète brigand, is home to the house of Olivier de Magny (1529-1561). It also leads to rue de la Daurade, a district dotted with timber-framed houses with corbels and the executioner's house, famous for its five geminated windows. This district, with its undeniable medieval charm, has benefited from a remarkable restoration. An underground passageway leads to Port Bullier, a promenade offering a view of the city's banks and quays.
