LES SOUBIROUS
Old town home to Cahors' two medieval urban palaces, Saint-Barthélemy church and the Mobiles du Lot monument.
The ancient city of Cahors was enclosed between a wall that followed the present-day boulevard Gambetta and the course of the river Lot. Cahors' two medieval palaces, the Palais de Via and the Palais Duèze, are located in the upper part of the town. The Saint-Barthélemy church, with its bell tower-porch, and the Mobiles du Lot monument, located near its chevet, close the view of this district to the north. Heading south down rue des Soubirous, you reach rue du Château-du-Roi, one of the most emblematic streets in old Cahors.
