The winegrowers of Cahors are men and women who carry high the values of the South-West and work on 21,700 hectares of limestone spread over 45 communes in the Lot, between the Causses and the Lot valley. The AOC Cahors was created in 1971 and is reserved exclusively for red wines made from 70% Malbec, although two other grape varieties, Tannat and Merlot, are authorized.
