The monastery was once home to a hundred Augustinian nuns and dates back to the century
Located on the left bank of the Célé and accessible by a bridge, the village, a true jewel of the valley, including this priory, which today belongs to the commune, was known as Val-Paradis. The monastery was home to around 100 Augustinian nuns and dates back to the late 13th century. The first priory was founded around 1150 by Bertrand de Griffeuille, an itinerant monk, then again in 1211 and 1293. During group visits, local resident Christian Thiry will explain the rich history of the site with humor and expertise.
