Medieval castle hosting an exhibition of paintings, sculptures and crafts every summer

The majesty of this medieval castle is impressive! As early as the 12th century, the powerful de Cardaillac family, who dominated the region, undertook the construction of a keep on this site. It's an imposing 18-meter square structure, with walls over 3 meters thick, standing 30 meters high, spread over three floors, each with four rooms. The castle also hosts exhibitions of paintings, sculptures and handicrafts in spring and summer.

Le Château de Lacapelle-Marival
Le Château de Lacapelle-Marival a été construit à la fin du XIII e siècle par le fils cadet de la famille Cardaillac et a été durant 4 siècles la résidence de cette famille. Il a été classé Monument Historique en 1939. Mais ce Château était fermé car la saison estivale était sans doute considérée comme terminée ! Renseignements pris à la mairie jouxtant le Château : le Château était ouvert en septembre « tous les dimanches après-midi, de 15h à 18h » ainsi que pour les journées du Patrimoine prévues les samedi 21 et dimanche 22 septembre 2019. J'ai donc dû me contenter des extérieurs, cependant très beaux, et des jardins.
