ENTRE POTS
In the heart of an old barn renovated in the workshop, Karine turns the earth, while Yvan devotes himself to the transformation of the shard and the enamel by fire. The couple, who for a long time worked at the Musée régional de la poterie in Ger - she was dedicated to creation; he was an animator - now shapes superb collections of utilitarian or decorative objects, thanks to ancestral techniques learned from many internship masters. Jugs, bottles, bowls, cups, sugar bowls, butter bowls, suspensions, candle holders, come to life as part of a well-established artisanal ritual. Turned and then dried, the pieces undergo a first firing at 980°, before the enamel is applied and a second firing at 1280°. A delicate step that will give the pottery its impermeability and final colour. Karine and Yvan work with five different enamels: purple, olive green, turquoise, egg shell and pink egg shell. A deliberately restricted palette that gives their creations their identity.
