CAIX CASTLE
This castle is the current property and summer residence of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, and her husband
After having belonged in the 16th century to the poet Lefran de Pompignan, it is the current property and summer residence of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, and her husband, Prince Henrik of Denmark (born Henri de Laborde de Monpezat), born in the South-West, in Talence, and whose family has long lived in the Cayrou estate, near Albas, in the Lot. The 13th century tower, owned by the commune, was classified as a Historic Monument on 18 February 1905. The château is also a renowned wine estate in the Cahors appellation.
