Located in Martel, Moulin Castagné is a family-run farm of organic walnut trees, certified PDO Noix du Périgord. With 47 hectares of walnut trees, the Castagné family produces around 100 tonnes of walnuts a year. Thanks to their ancestral oil mill, they also produce elixirs and artisanal oils, according to a roasting and pressing ritual that gives the oils their fruity aromas. Whole walnuts, walnut kernels, chocolate walnuts, walnut and hazelnut oils... their products are available for direct sale and on their online boutique.

Visite du petit moulin instructive, dégustation des produits dans une boutique attenante. Je recommande vivement l'auberge au dessus, belle et grande salle , menu à 34€ en 5 etapes, hyper copieux et très gourmand, large gamme de vins. Personnel accueillant

Tout savoir sur la fabrication de l'huile de noix
Très joli endroit, la visite (gratuite) est très bien commentée. En peu de temps, on y apprend tout sur l'histoire de ce moulin, dont les 2 frères ont repris l'exploitation familiale. La dégustation, elle aussi gratuite, ne peut que nous encourager à craquer pour une des huiles proposées, mais aussi toutes sortes de produits à base de noix, de noisettes. Le vin de noix est délicieux, à consommer avec modération.
