Unique site in the Lot department. Wetlands have often been neglected, considered as devil's land and other wildfires. For centuries, these wetlands have been drained. More than 50% of the wetlands have disappeared during the last century in France. Yet these areas are essential. Classified as a regional nature reserve, the Marais de Bonnefont is open to the public with free access. Numerous themed guided tours are regularly organised.
