FROENSBOURG CASTLE
15th century castle with a keep on the attack side at the northern end, outbuildings and wood panelled outbuildings
The residential tower on the south rock belonged to the Fleckenstein family in the late 15th century. The entrance gate dates from 1481. At the time, the large castle covered the whole of the north rock. The upper level comprised a keep on the attack side at the north end, with an enfilade dwelling to the south. The intermediate and lower levels were occupied by outbuildings and outbuildings built of timber-framed walls, complemented by troglodytic structures.
