Basilica whose quadripartite vault, supported by a large double arch, is of great beauty
Listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, this 11th-13th century basilica, in the transitional period between Romanesque and Gothic art, is most unusual. Its two naves are built against the cliff face. The wooden mezzanine above is a 19th-century addition. The choir features a gilded wooden bas-relief altar depicting the Assumption and a 16th-century polychrome wooden Christ. One of the apses houses the relics of Saint Amadour. The quadripartite vaulting, supported by a large double-arched ceiling, is a thing of beauty.

Vraiment magnifique. Trés beau momunemt
La basilique est très blanche et à l'intérieur ornée de boiseries d'ailleurs l'orgue est magnifique et fait penser à un proue de bateau
sur les cotés et en hauteur il y a plusieurs petites petites chapelles à visiter
On peut remonter sur le haut du rocher par le chemin de pèlerinage ou par des ascenceurs
