PATRICK VINEL
In the 38 th century, the village had 1810 craftsmen turners, from it had its golden age with the manufacture of barrels of wine barrels, transported by gabares on the Lot. The reputation of the «roubinetaïres» extends to the whole of France. For five generations, the Vinel family no longer counts the number of taps turned. Patrick Vinel - sculptor at his hours - took over the family workshop in 1993. It takes care of the entire wood circuit since buying, cutting, shooting, waxing and selling. All wood in the region is used (they are not treated): walnut, cherry, oak-green, maple, ash, acacia, box boxes… They are turned with traditional tools and become balls, dishes, mortars, vases, honey spoons, bracelets or larger pieces such as wooden and table feet.
