DOMAINE DU VIEUX BOURG
Nine generations passionate about wine-growing in Côtes-de-Duras! In 1952, Georges Bireaud bought the Domaine du Vieux Bourg, and since then, his descendants have patiently worked to develop this vineyard of 50 ha, planted with the best red and white grape varieties. Vincent Bireaud presents fleshy red wines, round, of a beautiful colour and suitable for ageing. The dry, delicate and fruity whites like fish and seafood. The mellow whites, richer, with foie gras, desserts or even as an aperitif. The rosés, fresh and pleasant, are summer wines. The winery occupies the site of a chapel once dedicated to Saint Anne, while the ruins of the castle are still visible. Today Vincent continues the family business and also owns 30 ha of fruit trees for the production of prune d'ente and the elaboration of the famous Agen prune.
