Museum that traces its glorious existence, placed in the context of an era, that of the great expeditions in Albi.

It is so easy to imagine that as a child on the banks of the Tarn, Jean-François Galaup de Lapérouse was already dreaming of the trade winds. Honest man and brilliant sailor, this Albigensian spent his life delivered to the four winds, embarked on superb ships and subjected to the perils of his marine adventures. The Lapérouse Museum retraces his glorious life, placed in the context of an era of great expeditions. In addition to recounting his family life and his voyages, many objects found on the site of his fatal shipwreck in 1788, in Vanikoro, are on display.

Musée avec toute l'histoire de Lapérouse. Bien organisé, par chronologie. Durée visite 2h30 ou plus , car beaucoup à lire. Accès à tout public.

Lapérouse est un personnage très intéressant et attachant. Le musée est très bien, mais pas très grand. Ce personnage mériterait un musée plus grand mieux mis en Valeur.
