SAVEURS DU TARN
Aware of the importance of the agri-food sector - more than 4,000 jobs - the Tarn County Council and the consular chambers wanted to set up a collective structure, called Agropoint, to bring together producers, craftsmen, industrialists and organisations around common values, including taste and quality. Since 2012, Agropoint members, whose head office is located in the department, have been eligible for the Saveurs du Tarn brand. The label emphasizes locally manufactured products, while at the same time supporting employment and acting on the environment by promoting short circuits. It is available in two versions: Saveurs du Tarn, for raw products or processed products whose raw material(s) are of Tarn origin; and Saveurs du Tarn "local manufacture" for products processed in the department whose raw materials are not (wholly or partially) of local origin. Today, more than 3,000 products carry the stamp, from the most traditional to the most unusual: meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables, eggs, dairy products, jams, breads, honey, beer, biscuits, chips, water, coffee roasted here, wines, foie gras, saffron, truffles, brandies, liqueurs...
