In Ambialet, the Tarn makes a long loop of 3 km. When the river seems to turn back, the peninsula of Ambialet is only about thirty meters wide. This unique site, which was for more than two centuries the most important stronghold of the Albigensian region, still bears the traces of a prestigious past. It is in the heart of this site that the 5th power station of the Saut du Tarn factory was built. As early as 1913, the factory began to look into the possibilities of using the Ambialet waterfall. You can also visit the Saut du Tarn Museum.
