PRIORY OF NOTRE-DAME DE L'ODER OF AMBIALET
The Benedictine monastery became important during the Albigensian Crusade
This 11th century schist priory, listed as a historical monument, overlooks the peninsula. It was originally given to the Saint-Victor de Marseille abbey in 1507. The Benedictine monastery became important during the Albigensian crusade. In 1458, it came under the authority of the chapter of Montpellier, and then, on the eve of the Revolution, it was in ruins. In 1865, it fell to the Franciscans of the Third Order who restored it to its original Romanesque appearance.
