Castle-museum being the birthplace of the romantic poet Maurice de Guérin, where you can visit a museum dedicated to his life and work

The birthplace of Romantic poet Maurice de Guérin, a traditional Languedoc manor house dating from the 15th and 18th centuries, stands on a 27-hectare vineyard estate. It is now a departmental museum dedicated to the poet's tormented life and work, and to his sister Eugénie. Eugénie's diary evokes everyday rural life in the Tarn region in the 19th century. Brother and sister corresponded extensively. Eugénie encouraged her brother to turn to poetry at an early age. Cultural events also take place at the château.

Belle demeure abritant un musée intéressant
Petit château de Province dans une campagne verdoyante, le Cayla perpétue la mémoire de Maurice et Eugénie de Guérin ainsique que l'histoire de leur famille. Visite guidée très détaillée et instructive. Dans le parc, la statue du Centaure rappelle l'oeuvre majeure de Maurice. Mérite la visite qui par ailleurs est gratuite!
