THE RUINS OF THE CASTLE OF CASTELNAU-DE-LÉVIS
The ruins of Castelnau-de-Lévis castle, a magical, historic site with a superb watchtower.
The castle of Castelnau-de-Lévis is a place full of magic and history. Built in 1235 by Sicard Alaman, a powerful vassal of the Count of Toulouse Raymond VII, this stronghold was an important possession of the Toulousans in the face of royalty. Built on a rocky outcrop called "puy de Bonnafous", the castle was called Castelnau-de-Bonnafous for a long time, before taking the name of the owners Lévis. Today, a few ruins remain, notably its superb watchtower.
