PIERRE FABRE
The World Health Organization - WHO - defines health as a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being. This humanist principle was at the origin of Pierre Fabre's commitment in the early 1960s. This pharmacist, based in Castres, founded his laboratory in 1962 with the desire to "take care of man in his globality and diversity". More than fifty years later, the Pierre Fabre group has become an empire, but this philosophy has remained at the heart of a unique approach that links health and beauty. Pierre Fabre Laboratories - one of the last major independent French laboratories - is developing three cross-functional and complementary activities: health, pharmaceuticals and dermo-cosmetics.
Tarn's largest employer has a consumer health division focused on pharmacists, health professionals and their patients. It offers a wide range of medicines and advisory products for the health of everyone on a daily basis. The Pierre Fabre Healthy Care, Pierre Fabre Oral Care and Naturactive brands encompass the fields of family health, hygiene and oral and natural health.
The laboratories are also pioneers in dermo-cosmetics, with skin and hair care products whose common denominators are ethics and safety requirements. A-Derma, Ducray, Avène, Elancyl, Galénic or René Furterer are among the brands designed by Pierre Fabre.
The Tarn group also devotes a significant part of its human and financial resources to pharmaceuticals, very often in collaboration with other public or private laboratories. Pierre Fabre is a major and internationally recognized player in oncology.
The company employs more than 10,000 people worldwide, including nearly 3,000 in the Tarn region.
