BISHOPRIC GARDEN
French garden embellishing the Hôtel de l'Éveché, designed by André Le Nôtre, symbolizing the style of the Louis XIV period
This French garden extends and embellishes the already majestic Hôtel de l'Évêché, today the residence of the Goya Museum. The monument, built by Jules Hardouin-Mansart in 1670, offers a superb collection of Hispanic art. Outside, the garden created by André Le Nôtre, Louis XIV's gardener, perfectly symbolizes the style of the time: perspective games, pond, boxwood embroidery... Its value is such that the green space was classified as a historical monument in 1995 and labeled "Remarkable Garden" in 2004.
