THE DROUOT DISTRICT
Visit the Drouot district, long home to Castres' cavalry and artillery regiments.
This quadrilateral, opposite the Jardin du Mail, was long home to cavalry and artillery regiments. The man to whom it owes its name received several important artillery commands from Napoleon himself. Some of the former buildings have been restored and renovated, and now house administrative and municipal services, as well as entertainment venues. The former riding school, for example, has become the Salle Gérard-Philipe, and the district is also home to the Lo Bolegason multimedia music cultural center.
