PLACE JEAN-JAURÈS
Geographic and dynamic heart of the Castres Ecussion, home to several friendly addresses overlooking the banks of the Agout
This square is the geographical and dynamic heart of the Castres' "Ecusson". Shops and terraces rest there, waiting for the arrival of the city's onlookers. In the past, it was called "Royal", "Imperial" and then "National" square, before taking the name of the native humanist of the city. Behind the statue of Jean Jaurès, the old wheat market was raised and named Immeuble des Arcades. It houses several friendly addresses that look directly onto the banks of the Agout. When the sun is shining, it is a place not to be missed.
